This is astonishing from Jannik Sinner.

I guess Jannik Sinner isn't calling the physio down because he doesn't want to show his weakness to Carlos Alcaraz.

He must feel like he can find a way to push through this. However, I think that if you can use the rules to your advantage to get loosened up and get some more pickle juice in you then maybe you get that second wind.

He is only down one break so he still has a shot to get this back.

    Sinner 6-4 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 6-7 (3-7) 1-2 Alcaraz*

Carlos Alcaraz nestles a drop shot just over the net and Jannik Sinner can get nowhere near it.

A seal of approval from film director Spike Lee in the crowd as he mimics the shot. Not sure even he could come up with a script with as many twists as this one.

Sinner is beaten into submission as he goes long at the end of a 12-shot rally.

But the Italian responds well with a winner down the line.

A nice moment of sportsmanship between these two gladiators as Carlos Alcaraz confirms Jannik Sinner's serve landed in for an ace.

How he needed that, too. Sinner escapes to get up and running in the decider. The game of cat and mouse to the finish line begins.

It's so hard to watch Jannik Sinner out there right now.

He is just becoming that bit slower and seemingly that bit more frail in the corners.

He might pick up a second wind, but Carlos Alcaraz will be aiming to make the largest lead he can here.

We wondered how Sinner would hold up if it went long.

He's only played over four hours once in the past 18 months - and obviously hasn't played as much tennis as Alcaraz this year.

Sinner pulled up at the net after losing serve, dragging his leg heavily to the chair.

    Maybe it's rope-a-dope, but I doubt it.

Carlos Alcaraz has the momentum, but if we have learned anything during these past four hours and 20 minutes it's that it can swing back at any moment.

The second seed has a bit too much for a fading Jannik Sinner right now, though, and moves out to 30-0 on serve.

I've just changed my Eurostar ticket because I think it is safe to say I'm not going to make the 9pm one.
