Look at how Coco Gauff played that break point.

She didn't do anything fancy, she just played a solid return cross-court to ask the question.

If Lois Boisson did that in the previous game, this match might have had different momentum right now.

Gauff is just sailing and playing brilliant, intelligent tennis.

    Hang on a minute,.

Boisson has managed to work herself a break point.

    Maybe not completely spent.

Gauff applies all her power to Boisson's second serve and the Frenchwoman just can't take it off the ball and she fires long.

She looks absolutely spent at the moment.

I feel like Lois Boisson needs to stop running around her backhand.

She has got a good backhand so hit it back cross-court.

There is just no extra step there. Her arms are moving quickly but she needs an extra one to two steps to execute that backhand shot, and she hasn't made that adjustment.

    *Boisson 1-6 1-2 Gauff

Gauff quickly gets out to 0-30 on the Boisson serve but the Frenchwoman recovers to level things up.

The difference at the moment is that she's having to work a lot harder than Gauff to stay in the points.

That was a huge opportunity missed by Boisson.

Coco was getting nervous, but if you're not feeling it then be solid, don't go for the Hollywood ball.

Come on Boisson, get this crowd on your side - make it a cauldron!

Because it is starting to get to Gauff.

Boisson is bent over her racquet after a 23-shot rally.

Gauff did unbelievably well to stay in the point and Boisson actually stopped play when she thought the American's forehand had gone long. She didn't say anything, though and carried on in the rally before Gauff took the point.

Hawk-eye shows it was out! So unlucky.

  15. Boisson holds to lovepublished at 17:38 British Summer Time 5 June

    Boisson 1-6 1-1 Gauff*

A well-constructed point from Boisson has Gauff chasing back and forth across the baseline before the American skews one off the edge of her racquet and that seals a hold to love for the wildcard.

A couple of big serves help Gauff to a very comfortable hold to 15.

The body language from Boisson suggests she is a bit tired.

It's no doubt been a draining few days for the Frenchwoman. Not just the tennis part but the attention from the media, family, fans.

    Difficult to hide from that.

There's not a huge problem with Gauff's serve, it's more a mindset. She has changed it so many times to try and get it right.

The only time you will know it has worked is under immense pressure, and that's where it works for the very best.

Boisson left the court at the end of that set just to have a bit of a rethink, no doubt.

She's going to have to come up with something special to get back into this one.

That was the best set of tennis Gauff has played through the whole championships.

The good news for the Frenchwoman is that it is just one set. She has to find a way of getting an early break, and bringing the crowd into the game.
