    Here we go then.

Novak Djokovic is preparing to serve first on Centre Court.

Not the best start for the sixth seed - a double fault.

Ekaterina Alexandrova lumbered about a bit on her serve there looking frustrated. She has not dropped a set here at Wimbledon but this is not going to plan at all for the 18th seed.

Sticking with the cricket theme, England stars past and present Joe Root and Jimmy Anderson are in the Royal Box today.

The latter is risking his notoriously grumpy reputation as he shares a laugh with comedian Michael McIntyre.

  4. Double break Bencicpublished at 13:36 British Summer Time 7 July

    Alexandrova 1-4 Bencic*

Top class stuff from Belinda Bencic.

The Swiss gets the double break.

She's in cruise control so far, barely over 20 minutes in.

    *Alexandrova 1-3 Bencic

18th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova pushes Belinda Bencic all the way on her second service game.

But the Swiss holds again after saving one break point.

There's very little in this so far.

Here come the players and they are met by a huge cheer on Centre Court.

Polite applause from a stern-faced Roger Federer. I'm sure, like the rest of us, he's just keen for the action to begin.

Alex de Minaur wins the toss and elects to receive.

'He won't have played many finer rallies than that' - pure magic from Djokovic

Novak Djokovic overcame illness to win his first-round match in four sets but breezed through rounds two and three.

Saturday's masterful victory over fellow Serb Miomir Kecmanovic was his 100th match win at Wimbledon. He is the third player to reach that landmark, following Martina Navratilova (120) and Federer (105).

Can we expect more of this magic (see video below) from the 38-year-old on Centre Court when he takes on Alex de Minaur?

I tell you what, Belinda Bencic is playing some great tennis at the start of this match and that lovely winner down the line to take the second game prompted some of the crowd to get up from their seats and applaud.

Ekaterina Alexandrova beat Bencic 6-1 6-2 at Bad Homburg two weeks ago, but this is already shaping up to be a closer battle.

  9. When does Norrie play next?published at 13:23 British Summer Time 7 July

He's Britain's only remaining singles hope, and Cameron Norrie will be in quarter-final action tomorrow afternoon.

His match against defending champion Alcaraz will be second on Centre Court, after women's world number one Aryna Sabalenka's gets things started against Laura Siegemund at 13:30 BST.

Norrie beat Nicolas Jarry yesterday on Court One, which is said to be his favourite court - but it's fair to say the British number three deserves a crack on the main stage.

British duo Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool served up another straight-set victory against Argentina's Guido Andreozzi and Mexico's Marcelo Demoliner to cruise through to the men's doubles quarter-finals.

The fifth seeds needed just one hour and 12 minutes out on court three to seal the 6-3 6-4 victory, setting up a tasty encounter with defending champions Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara.

Cash and Glasspool will take plenty of confidence into that match-up after not dropping a single set all tournament, but their opponents - who are on the hunt for back-to-back Wimbledon men's doubles titles - also have an unblemished record going into the last 8.

Belinda Bencic gets the early break on Ekaterina Alexandrova's opening service game.

The Swiss then saves two break points to retain her serve.

Players still in the singles draw are in for a pretty big payday.

But how much could the remaining men's and women's players earn this week?

    • Reaching fourth round - £240,000
    • Quarter-finalists - £400,000
    • Semi-finalists - £775,000
    • Runner-up - £1,520,000
    • Winner - £3,000,000

If Roger Federer is a little concerned about his record being broken then here's a man who can relate...

Cricketing great Brian Lara was enjoying himself in the Royal Box yesterday, this morning he'll have been sweating over losing his Test record score.

I say that, much like Federer, Lara is a pretty cool customer so he might have been pretty sanguine about the whole thing.

In any case, South Africa's Wiaan Mulder declared on himself so Lara kept his record. We'll have to see if Federer keeps his.

    Speaking of Roger Federer...

It's nearly three years since he retired now but the great man will always draw a crowd at Wimbledon - even if he's just in the Royal Box.

Magnanimous as he may be, there must be a part of the eight-time Wimbledon champion hoping for an Alex de Minaur win this afternoon to make sure he keeps his record outright for a little longer.

  15. Djokovic continues bid to match Federer recordpublished at 13:10 British Summer Time 7 July

Novak Djokovic has been in imperious form in the past couple of rounds as he goes in search of an eighth Wimbledon title.

That would draw him level with Roger Federer's record at the All England Club.

The 38-year-old Serb is on course for a semi-final against world number one Jannik Sinner but he has a couple of hurdles to clear before he can start thinking about that.

First up, it's 11th seed Alex de Minaur on Centre Court.

The Australian made the quarter-finals at SW19 last year but given Djokovic has only lost two matches on grass this decade - both against Carlos Alcaraz in Wimbledon finals - matching that achievement will take a huge effort.

    .

Looks beautiful here at court one, doesn't it? Well don't let that blue sky decieve you as there's a fair bit of a breeze swirling round.

'Hope you've got a jumper in your bag too,' a fellow journalist dressed very much for last week's hot weather is told by a steward as he takes his seat.

Let's see how much, if any, impact this bit of breeze has on this first game here.

Defending champions Henry Patten and Harri Heliovaara are one step closer in their pursuit of back-to-back Wimbledon men's doubles titles after receiving a walkover.

France's Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Australia's Jordan Thompson made the difficult decision to withdraw from the third round match, after Thompson retired from his men's singles fourth round match against fifth seed Taylor Fritz yesterday.

The Australian had come into the championships with a back injury, but was determined to play in both the singles and doubles tournaments in SW19.

The seconds seeds might have preferred some time out on court though, after breezing to straight-set victories in the first and second rounds.

It's day eight at Wimbledon and the action is already well under way on the outside courts.

Things will very shortly be getting started on the show courts, too, with 18th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova taking on Belinda Bencic in the fourth round of the women's singles on Court One.

We'll bring you updates on that as we build-up to Novak Djokovic against Alex de Minaur, who kick things off on Centre Court with their men's fourth round match from 13:30 BST.

So settle in and enjoy what promises to be another fascinating day at the All England Club!
