That break back is a bit disappointing. You can see the disappointment on Francesca Jones' face, she just sort of shrugged her shoulders. That's not what she would've wanted.

There were two or three cheap points in that game, even though Eva Lys hit two great backhands down the line. Those last two points were just a little bit soft.

It's a shame because she obviously felt so positive after that first game.

  2. Auger-Aliassime holdspublished at 21:17 BST 26 August

    *Harris 4-6 3-2 Auger-Aliassime

What a shot that is from Billy Harris.

A gorgeous flick of the wrist for 15-15 on the Felix Auger-Aliassime serve.

That's the only blemish on an otherwise solid service game from the Canadian.

  3. Lys breakspublished at 21:14 BST 26 August

A superb backhand down the line from Eva Lys draws applause from her opponent.

The German tries it again on the next point and gets herself 30-15 in-front.

Fran Jones then double faults to give Lys two break points and she is able to take the first one.

  4. Harris holds to lovepublished at 21:14 BST 26 August

    Harris 4-6 3-1 Auger-Aliassime*

Another straightforward hold to love on the board for Billy Harris.

A few more of those and he'd be home and dry in this set...

  5. Auger-Aliassime holdspublished at 21:11 BST 26 August

    *Harris 4-6 2-1 Auger-Aliassime

Felix Auger-Aliassime has taken his cap off.

Does this mean he now means business?

Whatever it means it's had the desired effect as the Canadian takes a no-nonsense hold to 15, sealed with a brilliant reaction forehand.

    *Jones 0-6 1-0 Lys

  8. 'You wouldn't know Jones is a set down here'published at 21:07 BST 26 August

    Jones 0-6 0-0 Lys*

    Ken Skupski
Former British player on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra and BBC Sounds

When you find yourself losing all of these games, plus being further and further away from where you want to be, you start to push and you are clutching at straws.

You try to find that rhythm but unfortunately Francesca Jones hasn't been able to find that on a point-by-point basis.

You wouldn't know she is a set down here though, she is generally always in a good frame of mind on court and she will just keep going.

Three errors from Fran Jones allow Eva Lys to get to deuce on the Brit's serve.

Lys then covers an awful lot of distance to reach a dropshot and give herself set point.

The German confidently takes the opportunity and after just 26 minutes Lys is a set in front.

  12. Postpublished at 21:02 BST 26 August

    Harris 4-6 0-0 Auger-Aliassime*

Billy Harris did not play poorly in that opening set and he did manage to take some of his opportunities against a below par Felix Auger-Aliassime.

But, he still lost the set. That's disappointing for the Brit and he'll need to regroup here.

  13. 'Jones hasn't been good enough to trouble Lys'published at 21:02 BST 26 August

    *Jones 0-5 Lys

    Ken Skupski
Former British player on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra and BBC Sounds

Eva Lys has been really solid. She hasn't really made too many unforced errors as yet and she has put Francesca Jones under a lot of pressure when she's had the opportunity to step into the court.

Unfortunately, when Francesca Jones has been forced into that backhand corner, she just hasn't been able to get out of that situation.

The scoreboard doesn't lie in some sense, Jones hasn't been good enough to trouble Lys at the moment.

A few mistakes littered in that last service game of Billy Harris' and Felix Auger-Aliassime takes the set.

Not the best set of tennis from the Canadian either with a high error count on both sides but the 25th seed played the big moments better and comes through to take the opening set.

  16. 'Jones epitomises people that prove everybody wrong'published at 20:58 BST 26 August

    Jones 0-4 Lys*

    Ken Skupski
Former British player on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra and BBC Sounds

Francesca Jones' story is unbelievable. She epitomises people that just prove everybody wrong and credit to her for just accepting her condition for what it is.

You can often feel sorry for yourself but she hasn't done that. She has gone out there and been absolutely brilliant - so hats off to her. If she falls short then she falls short.

  17. Auger-Aliassime set pointpublished at 20:58 BST 26 August

    *Harris 4-5 Auger-Aliassime

Billy Harris, serving to stay in the set, misses a couple of first serves while trying to hit out wide but rallies to 30-30.

Felix Auger-Aliassime reads the drop shot well and chases it down to earn a set point.

  18. Lys breakspublished at 20:56 BST 26 August

    Jones 0-4 Lys*

Eva Lys is playing so well off the backhand and it's causing Fran Jones all kinds of problems.

The Brit hits an ace to get back level at 30-30 but then goes long in the next rally to allow her opponent another break point.

Jones hits her first serve in to the net and Lys returns her second with interest to force another mistake and secure the double break.

  19. Auger-Aliassime saves break point to holdpublished at 20:52 BST 26 August

    *Harris 4-5 Auger-Aliassime

Felix Auger-Aliassime finds a better first serve and that wipes out the break point.

Billy Harris returns really well at deuce but Auger-Aliassime somehow gets to it and the Brit's response is into the net.

Some front-footed tennis from the Canadian as he comes into the net pays off and he takes a tricky hold.

  20. Lys holdspublished at 20:52 BST 26 August

    *Jones 0-3 Lys

It's another hold for Eva Lys and very much advantage to the German in this first set.

Fran Jones will be frustrated she is not on the board yet but both players are striking the ball well out there.
