"It feels incredible. I want to thank the crowd for getting me through some really sticky moments.

"It really meant a lot to me and I'm really proud of how I fought back after losing the first set.

    Raducanu 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 6-1 Li

Not perfect from Emma Raducanu, she will hopefully play much better matches this summer. But after missing out in the first set tie-break she punished Ann Li when she had the chance.

Raducanu converted seven of 15 break point chances - three of those in the final game of the match - compared to Li converting only three of 10.

By the end Raducanu was comfortably ahead in total points too, 105-90.

    Raducanu 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 6-1 Li

That was a sticky, tricky match for Emma Raducanu, who often produced tennis way below her best.

But she did enough to get over the line - the mark of a great sportsperson is winning when you are not on top form.

She will face Maya Joint of Australia in round two of Eastbourne.

    Breaking

    Raducanu 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 6-1 Li

Converted with a lovely backhand winner!

Tears from Emma Raducanu, who had to work very hard there and looked in pain after a slip on court.

But she worked extremely hard, and got over the line.

    Ooh, all three are spurned!

The third was the killer, with Li on the run after a weak second serve.

Yet Raducanu transpired to spoon a backhand volley into the net.

    Deuce.

Ann Li must hold serve here to stand any chance in this match.

But Emma Raducanu is pulling the American hither and thither all over the Eastbourne court. All front foot and powerful hitting from the Bromley native.

    Three match points!

All the momentum with the Brit now. Even the sun is daring to make an appearance at Eastbourne.

She rattles through her service game to love. It feels like we are in the endgame now.

    Raducanu 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 3-1 Li*

Ann Li still has a couple of tricks up her sleeve (despite wearing a sleeveless top today; work with me people), as she lands a forehand right on the baseline.

But then she pushes long. Break point Raducanu...

Oooh, Emma Raducanu serves up her third double fault of the match. 30-30.

The next point sees Raducanu on her second serve again, but she is bold and pushes it hard. Li returns into the net, and Raducanu roars.

    She holds to 30. Huge.

    *Raducanu 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 2-1 Li

Emma Raducanu has started to exploit Ann Li's weaknesses a little more - the American has now only won 51% of points on her second serve in this match.

The Brit must be proactive to get a hard-earned win over the line.

As the clock ticks past two hours in this gruelling match, Li holds to love.

    Raducanu 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 2-0 Li*

The mistakes are mounting up for Ann Li - she plants a simple backhand volley into the net, when she had the chance to move ahead in this game.

    Instead, Raducanu solidifies her break.

    *Raducanu 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 1-0 Li

Now a fourth deuce as Li fails to press her advantage. The American has lost all consistency on her serve.

Then the net cord sends a Li backhand wide! Advantage Raducanu...

Long by the American! A third straight break of Li's serve for Raducanu, she has a huge chance now.

    Raducanu 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 0-0 Li*

Brilliant return of serve by Raducanu, and a giant roar as she earns another break point.

But Li follows up an excellent serve to save that break.

Back and forth in this opening game, deuce for the third time.

If Raducanu could break, that would be a huge blow to Li.

    Raducanu 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 0-0 Li*

Ann Li was broken in her last two service games of the second set, and serving first in the third she falls 0-30 behind with some very ragged shots.

But then she pulls out two technically perfect passing shots to pull level in the game. You can predict the next point in this match.

Li sprays wide, we have deuce...
