A real battle already at the start of this second set, Alcaraz putting himself in a good position to get an early break as fierce forehand drops viciously just over to put him 30-15 up, but then the top seed ends a lengthy rally by sending his shot long.

It is a comfortable hold for the top seed, with Bautista Agut having no answer for a whipped forehand into the corner and then an ace to seal the hold.

Oohs and aahs during an eye-catching rally as both players try to catch the other out with delicate shots just dropping over the net but the point goes Bautista Agut's way as he sends Alcaraz to the back of the court with a shot down the line and then volleys one just over.

He did so almost without dropping a point but was caught out when Bautista Agut just managed to get to the ball at full stretch and his shot clipped the net to wrongfoot Alcaraz.

However, the former world number one is firmly getting into his stride now.

A pretty comfortable first service game for Alcaraz as he holds.

Bautista Agut was a little unlucky at 15-30 down with a forehand down the line that went long when Alcaraz was at the net, but overall the top seed served well.
