Jack Draper holds serve without fuss.

No blemishes on his record in that one as he retains that break of serve lead.

Renata Zarazua is a fighter, that's for sure.

Madison Keys is just trying to find her way around the court and playing in front of your home fans is always nerve-wracking, so I think that's making things a little tougher to close out.

  3. Gomez holds after saving three break pointspublished at 18:55 British Summer Time 25 August

    *Draper 6-4 3-2 Gomez

Another glorious passing forehand winner down the line by Federico Gomez. This time it seals the game and he keeps the deficit to just the one break.

    Draper 6-4 3-1 Gomez*

That's a lovely passing forehand to work Federico Gomez to game point but the frustrations are beginning to show as another error once again takes us to deuce.

Gomez will be desperate to win this game, a double break at this point would go a long way to deciding this set.

So far so good for Draper.

Given he hasn't played since 3 July, the British number one will be happy with his level.

His first serves have been slightly slower than usual - around an average of 111mph in the opening set - but he's finding plenty of them.

The forehand is cooking nicely, too. Some explosive winners on that wing have been greeted by 'ooohs' from the Armstrong crowd.

  6. Keys taken to another tie-breakpublished at 18:53 British Summer Time 25 August

    *Keys 7-6 (12-10) 6-6 Zarazua

One of the best points of the match ends with Madison Keys missing a forehand after some brilliant scrambling defence by Renata Zarazua.

    We're into another tie-break.

    Draper 6-4 3-1 Gomez*

Federico Gomez does all the hard work to save the break point and work his way to game point but sends us back to deuce with a daft forehand.

Nicely done by Federico Gomez, wiping out both break points with some composed hitting.

But oh no, he hands Jack Draper a third opportunity when he hits a double fault.

  10. Keys edges aheadpublished at 18:48 British Summer Time 25 August

    Keys 7-6 (12-10) 6-5 Zarazua*

Once again, this match takes a sharp swing as Madison Keys fights back, pumping her first and shouting "come on!" as she breaks Renata Zarazua with a powerful forehand winner.

Then for the second service game in a row, she serves two double faults but still manages to hold, and with the match ticking over the two-hour mark, Zarazua must hold serve to stay in the match.

    Draper 6-4 3-1 Gomez*

Bit of a tricky service game for Jack Draper to consolidate that break but he passes the test and seals the hold when Federico Gomez fires into the net.

Ha, a colleague and I were just discussing Jack Draper's new kit.

    What are everyone's thoughts?

Jack Draper's outfit is really nice. I like the colours, it is different.

Honestly, the sleeveless look is really going to help him. It hasn't been too humid yet but their shirts are sticking to them out there, so it must be pretty humid today.

    There it is.

This time Jack Draper strikes early in the set and he takes the break of serve to add to his one-set lead.

  15. Keys stops rot but still a break downpublished at 18:39 British Summer Time 25 August

This is not the start to the US Open that Madison Keys had envisaged - her first major in her home country as a Grand Slam champion, and it's been an error-strewn performance.

Coach and husband Bjorn Fratangelo has changed tack on his advice - in the first set it was more practical with him telling her where to stand on court, now he's just trying to keep her calm. "It's just a sport, nothing's riding on the line," he tells her.

Despite serving back-to-back double faults, Keys holds to end Zarazua's run of five games in row.

But the sixth seed is still a break down and world number 82 Renata Zarazua will now serve for the second set.

  16. Draper holdspublished at 18:39 British Summer Time 25 August

    Draper 6-4 1-1 Gomez*

Really nice shot from Federico Gomez at the net and he asks the crowd for a bit more love - they duly provide it.

Another forehand into the net from Jack Draper offers Gomez an opening at 0-30 but Draper's audacious backhand drop shot levels things up.

A remarkable shot from Gomez is met on the volley by Draper and that wraps up the hold.

No matter what the Argentine is having fun out there.

Federico Gomez shakes off that opening-set defeat and takes the opening game of set two to love.

Solid from Jack Draper in that service game and he takes the first set without too many issues.

He does, at times, look like someone who has not played a competitive singles match for seven weeks but he's settling into things on Louis Armstrong.

  19. Keys loses four games in a rowpublished at 18:29 British Summer Time 25 August

    Keys 7-6 (12-10) 3-4 Zarazua*

Madison Keys' entourage in the coaching box are desperately trying to encourage her but it's not doing the trick as the American finds herself 15-40 down.

She saves one but then yet another unforced error - her 52nd of the match - means she has lost four games in a row.

Good shot from Federico Gomez to secure the hold to 15.

Jack Draper will serve for the opening set.
