  3. What happened today in the men's drawpublished at 19:29 British Summer Time 10 July 2024

So a reminder of what's happened in the men's draw on day 10 of Wimbledon.

Novak Djokovic is through to the semi-finals of Wimbledon after Alex de Minaur withdrew from their last-eight tie because of a hip injury.

The Australian ninth seed was scheduled to take on 24-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic on Centre Court but had to drop out so Djokovic progressed to the last four courtesy of a walkover.

The Serb will face Italy's Lorenzo Musetti after he beat American 13th seed Taylor Fritz in an entertaining quarter-final.

    Musetti triumphed in five sets - 3-6 7-6 (7-5) 6-2 3-6 6-1 - against Fritz on Court One.

A quick recap of what's happened today.

Elena Rybakina cruised into the Wimbledon semi-finals with a clinical win over Elina Svitolina on Centre Court.

Kazakhstan's Rybakina was a level above Svitolina in a 6-3 6-2 victory that took just 62 minutes, and will play in the last four for the first time since she won the competition in 2022.

Rybakina will face Czech Barbora Krejcikova, who battled past Jelena Ostapenko on Court One to reach the last four for the first time.

A 6-4 7-6 (7-4) helped Krejcikova move past fellow Roland Garros champion Ostapenko and marks an impressive return to form.

Sheldon: What a match by Musetti, incredible how he was able to dictate the tempo and slowly hurt someone like Fritz who is certainly more experienced than Musetti, really compliments to this guy. Especially in the last set that should be the hardest and mentally difficult one, he seemed light going to win five consecutive games, simply incredible. He deserved his first Wimbledon final, it will be nice to see him against Novak, I'm sure it will be a super hard-fought match.

Over on court 14, Britain’s Andy Lapthorne has made it into the semi-finals.

The two-time US Open winner, playing in the quad wheelchair singles, moved past American David Wagner 6-2 6-4.

I’m not sure if it’s Andy’s coach or one of his friends, but they were joking with him to hurry it up so they could be back in time to watch England’s Euros semi-final against the Netherlands!

  8. 'I kept the best for the end' - Musettipublished at 19:07 British Summer Time 10 July 2024

    Musetti 3-6 7-6 (7-5) 6-2 3-6 6-1 Fritz

More from Lorenzo Musetti, speaking in his on-court interview: I probably played my best tennis, I kept the best for the end. Probably it was not the best start because Taylor was really leading the game, especially with the serve. I couldn’t return pretty well.

“I started to take some space. The second set I had a big reaction and I changed my mind, my attitude and that made the difference. Hopefully on Friday I’m going to have the same one."

On facing Djokovic in the semi-final: “He probably knows better than me the surface and the stadium for sure. He’s a legend everywhere but especially here in Wimbledon in the last years.

“He made something unthinkable for anyone and I have the chance to play against many times, we know each other really well so I expect a big fight and I think it’s one of the toughest challenge on tour.

“I’m an ambitious guy and I like to be challenged so I’ll try my vest and try to put my 100% effort, and let’s see what happens.”

  9. 'Working out beautifully for Novak'published at 19:02 British Summer Time 10 July 2024

    Greg Rusedski
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds

Alex De Minaur made the right decision. Health is your wealth. For Novak Djokovic everything is working out beautifully after the injury. He’s into the semis and get’s an extra day’s rest. You couldn’t ask for anything better.

I think [the break without a match] is not going to affect Djokovic. He’s got so much experience at his age, 37 years young, the more rest you can get for the knee, the more you can go to the gym, the more you can strengthen it out, and at that age less is more.

I think it is a huge plus for Novak going into the semi-finals.

  10. Popular Musetti gets superb victorypublished at 19:00 British Summer Time 10 July 2024

    Musetti 3-6 7-6 (7-5) 6-2 3-6 6-1 Fritz

    Michael Emons
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

What a victory for Lorenzo Musetti, the 25th seed who has got himself into the semi-finals of a Grand Slam for the first time.

He did superbly to fight back from a set and a break down to see off Taylor Fritz in a thoroughly enjoyable Court One clash and has called his semi-final with Novak Djokovic "probably the toughest challenge on tour".

Musetti added that he "will put in 100% effort" and that is exactly what he did today against Fritz. He showed great spirit, character and athleticism, as well as a huge amount of talent, and will certainly have a large number of fans cheering him on Centre Court.

How will Djokovic cope with that? We find out on Friday.

Let's hear from Lorenzo Musetti, who is onto a first Wimbledon semi-final, where he will face Novak Djokovic:

On reaching a first Grand Slam semi-final:

"I probably have no words. It’s tough to speak but I’ll try my best.

"I didn’t realise yet what I’ve done. First of all I want to say thanks to all the Italian crowd who are here to support us.

"We were joking about trying to play to the big stage at Wimbledon. I’ve never tried Court One and Centre Court. I played a fantastic match because Taylor was in great shape.

"I'm really happy to be in my first semi-final here and I want to say thanks to my team and all my friends from my home town to came to support me."

    Only one Novak Djokovic...

The plus side for Musetti is that he pushed Djokovic all the way in the French Open third round recently. The downside is that Musetti squandered a two sets to one lead in that match, including losing the fifth 6-0.

    Still. You never know.
