On the way to the French Open tennis this morning, I stopped by the Parc des Princes to see what happening.

For those of who have never visited this salubrious corner of south-west Paris, you might not be aware that PSG's stadium is just a goal kick away from Roland Garros.

The atmosphere was already bubbling - 10 hours before the Champions League final kicks off.

A queue had already formed outside the club shop where PSG fans were grabbing their €25 commemorative scarves.

Even Mathieu - a friendly policeman who I chatted to - was showing his colours in the patrol car, where his scarf was draped over the headrest.

It's been a while since we've had three British men in the third round at the French Open - almost 60 years in fact.

After Jack Draper's win earlier, Jacob Fearnley and Cameron Norrie are set to compete against each other for a place in the fourth round.

Former British number one Annabel Croft says Brits have improved on clay because they have learned to get to grips with the "alien surface".

    Welcome back!

After Jack Draper's win over Joao Fonseca earlier, British interest turns to the mouthwatering third-round tie between Cameron Norrie and Jacob Fearnley.

Fearnley, who was outside the world's top 500 12 months ago, is enjoying his Roland Garros debut and is set to break into the top 50 despite having never played a professional match on clay before this year.

Norrie meanwhile, who has reached the third round on three previous occasions, has fallen to 81 in the rankings but defeated 11th seed Daniil Medvedev in the opening round.

That's because British number two Jacob Fearnley is taking on British number three Cameron Norrie on Court Simonne Mathieu in about 45 minutes time (hopefully).

It's been a cracking day so far in Paris!

British number one Jack Draper outclassed rising star Joao Fonseca in the fourth round

Top seed Jannik Sinner dropped only three games in a ruthless win over Jiri Lehecka.

And there was a nice moment earlier when Mirra Andreeva thanked a fan for gifting her a "lucky charm" before her French Open third-round victory against Yulia Putintseva.

I don't want to get too carried away, but Jack Draper could be meeting world number one Jannik Sinner in the quarter-finals.

Italian Sinner, who also won in straight sets today, will face Russian Andrey Rublev next, a round before the last eight.

Draper will play either Kazakh Alexander Bublik or Portuguese qualifier Henrique Rocha in the fourth round.

  7. 'Happy to be in the second week'published at 15:50 British Summer Time 31 May

    Fonseca 2-6 4-6 2-6 Draper

British number one Jack Draper after beating Brazil's Joao Fonseca: "I knew it was going to be a really tough match, Joao has caught the attention of everyone on tour, the players, the fans. Today my experience came through, I don't think he has played as many Grand Slams as I have but he has got an unbelievably bright future so all the best to him."

"I played good, the first set was really key. I got on top of him and used my forehand really well. Mentally it was a good performance from me today. Happy to be in the second week here today and hopefully more to come."

On the conditions: "My first two rounds I played at night. Playing against Gael the other night, I didn't think I could hit the ball past him. It was so cold and I couldn't really do much but today the ball was getting up more and the faster conditions definitely suit me. Either way I will be ready for my next round."

On the atmosphere: "It's not like anyone is against me, this is entertainment. It's two guys competing against each other. If you are here and you are Brazilian, you're supporting Joao or if you are French and supporting a French player, that's not against me, you want your player to win and that's fine. I don't think it is bad at all to have a rowdy atmosphere, that's what I play for."
