This is pretty much the perfect performance today by Jack Draper.

Intense from the start, forcing Fonseca into mistakes, taking his chances and getting things done quickly.

The ice towel around Draper's neck indicates how stuffy it has become at Roland Garros.

Barring a dramatic turnaround, the British number one will be having a cool shower in the next hour and back in his digs for the Champions League final.

Draper's cruising towards the fourth round, he's continuing to show us a masterclass of his best shots as he whacks a passing attempt that Fonseca can't return back over the net.

He then wellies a forehand which is too hot for the 18-year-old to handle. 30-0.

That was a beautiful strike from Joao Fonseca but I think it is too little too late.

It seems like Jack Draper was content to just change ends and start serving after having the double break in hand and having been so clinical on serve throughout this match.

The crowd give a warm applause. Joao Fonseca is on the board in the third set after quickly taking the next two points to narrowly hold.

You feel it's delaying the inevitable.

Better, Fonseca dials it back a bit and saves both break points with quick serve and volley points.

Oh dear. This match has left Joao Fonseca. At 15-30 he slides a cross-court forehand wide.

Jack Draper has one foot in the second round. Joao Fonseca looks exhausted out there as he watches his opponent the other side of the net lightly skip to a love-hold.

I'm so impressed with how Jack Draper is using that forehand down the line behind Joao Fonseca.

  9. Draper breaks againpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 31 May

We've had the finesse, how about the power? Fonseca can't handle Draper's backhand and chips long to gift the Brit a double-break in the third.

  10. Break point Draperpublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 31 May

    *Fonseca 2-6 4-6 0-2 Draper

Jack Draper's liking this drop shot, and so are the crowd watching. Another sliced winner helps him to 30-30. And hey, if it ain't broke, why not do it again?

Another drop-shot winner sets up break point.

Ooooh, all the shots are coming out now. Jack Draper plays a stunning drop-shot winner before dictating the next point with powerful forehands and accurate backhands until Fonseca nets.

    Hold to 15.

Joao Fonseca looks confused, he doesn't seem to have an idea of the style that he should play and he's not sure what he can do to make Jack Draper feel uncomfortable.

This is crunch time here because if Fonseca isn't able to get in to any Draper service games, this thing could be over quickly.

  13. Postpublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 31 May

This could all be over quite quickly. Draper goes up 30-0 with a couple more unreturnable serves.

Better from Joao Fonseca, he quickly wins the next two point with two big serves. One break point to go.

Both players have had a little comfort break which gets them out of this blazing heat.

Draper's struggled in soaring temperatures before. Not today.

There were a little bit of nerves there form Jack Draper but he found his way through.

Joao Fonseca is just trying to hit his forehand bigger and bigger.

Fonseca is going to have to find a little bit of composure if he wants to try and make this a match.

The fifth seed gets there eventually and is two sets to the good after just over an hour!

Again Jack Draper doesn't try to do much and waits for Joao Fonseca to error, with the Brazilian dominating the point but wasting his advantage with a forehand into the net.
