    I think one of the reasons Novak is a bit patchy is that he hasn’t played many matches. It’s about playing matches under pressure.

    I know he is saving his body, he’s played a lot of matches under pressure.

    But typically a lot of older players find their form drops off and a lot of the time its just they don’t play enough tough matches.

    I would imagine Murray will be encouraging him to play more matches.

    Job done for Alexander Zverev. The German second seed overcomes a brief blip to move into the quarter-finals with a 6-1 2-6 6-3 6-2 victory over France's Ugo Humbert.

    "I'm extremely happy to be in the quarter-finals having only losing one set. The last set I lost my opponent played incredibly and I didn't have much chance of winning it," Zverev said.

    "A week ago I was very unsure of my level, I was very unsure of my tennis. I couldn't really play many points in practice, I couldn't prepare the way I wanted. That's why I am even more happy to be in the quarter-finals.

    "I definitely want to play three more matches here so we will see how that goes."

    American 12th seed Tommy Paul is next up for Zverev.
