Brilliant flicked forehand. Draper is so brilliant on the run.
He couldn’t have been more full-stretched than that.

I feel like Alcaraz has most of his points by net play. He’s having to work the point having to come forward because Draper hits with such depth.
We’re seeing him come forward and finish beautifully at the net.
*Draper 2-5 Alcaraz
An 130mph ace sets Carlos Alcaraz on his way to a 40-0 lead before Jack Draper claws a couple of points back with a stunning forehand return down the line, and then even better backhand cross-court winner.
But Alcaraz keeps the British number one at bay, tapping down a volley as he makes his way to the net.
Draper's got to hold serve now to stay in this set.

I guess with so many opportunities it was only a matter of time before Alcaraz got that breakthrough.
Draper is just looking a little wearier in front of us.
That’s the problem – where do you go tactically when you are playing him?
Draper 2-4 Alcaraz*
The pair engage in a baseline battle and it's Carlos Alcaraz who comes out on top after Jack Draper sends his forehand wide.
It had been coming.
*Draper 2-3 Alcaraz
Carlos Alcaraz leaps into the forehand and pushes it straight down the line, leaving Jack Draper with no hope.
The Spaniard pulls ahead again by dinking down a volley at the net and the same play works brilliantly again to bring up more break points.
*Draper 2-3 Alcaraz
"Come on!" yells Carlos Alcaraz as Jack Draper, after missing the first break point, sends the second into the net.
The third seed rushes forward and sends a forehand winner well beyond the reach of the British number one, who then isn't able to react fast enough to get to a clever drop shot from Alcaraz.

Carlos Alcaraz is still not a 'servebot'.
The Spanish third seed joked he had turned into one after hitting 14 aces with his remodelled serve in an easy second-round win.
Today we're seeing it is still a work in progress.
His first serve percentage so far is down at a paltry 40% and he has produced three double faults.
Draper 2-2 Alcaraz*
Another double fault from Carlos Alcaraz and all of a sudden, Jack Draper has got two break points.
Draper 2-2 Alcaraz*

Draper 2-2 Alcaraz*
Oooft, that wasn't far off. After missing the first break point, it looks like Carlos Alcaraz has clinched the second but it's just an inch or so wide.
And from 15-40 down, Jack Draper fights back and gets the hold.
*Draper 1-2 Alcaraz
Carlos Alcaraz holds both hands up in apology as the ball hits the net cord and trickles over to Jack Draper's side with the British number one rooted to the baseline.
Draper's drop shot on the next point falls short before he pulls a point back with a service winner, but then he nets - offering up two break points for his Spanish opponent.
*Draper 1-2 Alcaraz
