Draper hits a superb backhand to the far left corner, before smashing down the middle to leave Medvedev powerless.

There has been a lot of laughs and giggles between some of the pairings today.

Jessica Pegula and Jack Draper have more serious expressions.

The top seeds, who were only put together a few days ago, are unequivocally here to win.

  5. Postpublished at 22:41 BST 19 August

    *Pegula/Draper 4-1 3-0 Andreeva/Medvedev

Medvedev gives Draper the eyes and sends him the wrong way with a ack hand from deep, before Draper then clatters into the net trying to reach Andreeva's dipping cross-court effort.

Andreeva then screams as she hits a close-quarter return into the net, before Draper leaps up to score off Andreeva's service return.

Andreeva returns Pegula's serve long and that's 3-0. The Brit and the American are making light work of this!

Draper hits the net from deep, as does Pegula after exchanging shots with Andreeva.

Medvedev narrowly misses wide right on a strong backhand, before committing a third double-fault of the day.

Andreeva then makes a beautiful drop shot off Draper's service return that has the Brit sliding to the net, but then Medvedev double faults once more.

Andreeva shoots from the net but it goes too long, and Pegula and Draper break serve.

  7. Postpublished at 22:34 BST 19 August

  8. Game and first set to Draper and Pegulapublished at 22:28 BST 19 August

    Pegula/Draper 4-1 Andreeva/Medvedev

Medvedev double faults but Draper and Pegula can't take advantage.

Draper miscues a rapid return off a Medvedev backhand at the net on first set point and then hits a service return long, before both he and Pegula try to return a low Andreeva smash.

The crowd has certainly thinned out before this quarter-final. Interesting.

Not sure if that's a lack of interest or a necessary stretch of the legs.

When Pegula and Draper played Raducanu and Alcaraz, I'd guesstimate the 25,000-seater Arthur Ashe Stadium was about two-thirds full.

Now I'd say it's about a third full.

  11. Draper and Pegula break servepublished at 22:22 BST 19 August

    *Pegula/Draper 2-1 Andreeva/Medvedev

Medvedev gets a quick return at the net wrong and it loops over the baseline.

Draper the overhits a forehand, but then smashes home at the net to set up three break points.

Medvedev is equal to a passing Draper backhand, and then just about keeps a smash in bounds after Andreeva did brilliantly to reach a Pegula shot.

No matter for Draper and Pegula, as the British number one is at the net to break service.

  12. Postpublished at 22:18 BST 19 August

    Pegula/Draper 1-1 Andreeva/Medvedev*

Andreeva can't quite get her racket around a close-quarters return, before Pegula nets what should have been a simple shot.

Draper double faults, but makes amends with a vicious serve that Andreeva can't return in bounds and another than has Medvedev sliding all over the place.

Andreeva returns another Draper serve wide and Pegula and Draper level the set at 1-1.

  13. Postpublished at 22:15 BST 19 August

    Game one goes with service.

Pegula goes long and then finds the net, before Medvedev hits a forehand long.

Andreeva and Medvedev have not even had time for quick wash.

They still look sweaty from beating Danilovic and Djokovic little over 10 minutes ago.

The DJ has only had time to play three or four songs in the quick turnaround.

    Spice Girls was my favourite.

'If you wannabe my dubs partner...'

    Not quite the same ring.

They face Mirra Andreeva and Daniil Medvedev, who defeated Novak Djokovic and Olga Danilovic about 10 minutes ago. Talk about a quick turnaround!
