One star who won't be playing today is world number one Jannik Sinner.

Sinner withdrew from the mixed doubles after retiring during Monday's Cincinnati Open final against Carlos Alcaraz because of illness.

The Italian was due to partner Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic in a first round match against women's world no.18 Belinda Bencic and men's world no.3 Alexander Zverev.

Bencic and Zverev will now face American duo Danielle Collins and Christian Harrison in round one.

    Draper/Pegula v Alcaraz/Raducanu

Just catching up on the mixed doubles championship? Here's how it works.

Sixteen teams entered the first round today, with the eight winners then playing in round two later on.

The semi-finals and the final will take place on Wednesday.

Just four games are required to win a set in matches before the final, with no advantage scoring (four points will be needed to win a game) and 10-point match tie-breaks instead of a third set throughout.

    Look who it is!

This was our first glimpse of the Raducanu-Alcaraz partnership hitting the court together.

The pair hit the practice courts about 1pm here (18:00 BST) for their first tune-up.

Alcaraz and Raducanu hit to each from the baseline before they were joined by her coach Francis Roig and his brother Alvaro. Hits and giggles aplenty.

Didn’t see Alcaraz and Raducanu (have we got a team name yet?) on the same side of the net though.
