That was such a great battle and was intriguing right to the last game. Swiatek had to use her experience here.

That might have toughened her up, having to fight through that.

    Swiatek 6-1 4-6 6-4 Lamens

    Swiatek 6-1 4-6 6-4 Lamens

The number two seed is through to round three - but it was far from straightforward for Iga Swiatek.

The Wimbledon champion gets past world number 66 Suzan Lamens 6-4 in a deciding set on Arthur Ashe Stadium.

She rounds it off with an ace.

  5. Boyer holdspublished at 18:50 British Summer Time

    Boyer 3-6 3-6 7-5 5-4 Rublev*

Andrey Rublev finds a solid hold to put a little bit of pressure on Tristan Boyer.

The Russian gets himself to 15-30 but can't find a break point and Boyer is able to close out his service game.

Both players look to have settled down a little and now Rublev is serving to stay in the set.

  6. Osaka and Baptiste both breakpublished at 18:46 British Summer Time

    *Baptiste 1-2 Osaka

Osaka sends a message with a return backhand winner, before Hailey Baptiste produces back-to-back double faults to allow Osaka to break to love.

The four-time Slam winner begins her service game with an ace, but then gifts Baptiste two points by sliding into the net and then double faulting.

An aggressive long return gives Baptiste two break points, the first of which is taken by Osaka hitting into the net.

    Great response from Baptiste.

  7. Lamens holdspublished at 18:46 British Summer Time

    *Swiatek 6-1 4-6 5-4 Lamens

    Over to you, Iga Swiatek.

She will serve for the match next.

A first serve in when needed, and a well-played rally keeps Suzan Lamens alive in the match.

  10. Boyer holdspublished at 18:42 British Summer Time

    Boyer 3-6 3-6 7-5 4-3 Rublev*

Andrey Rublev needed that. The Russian holds from 15-30 down on his own serve.

The American responds though and Tristan Boyer keeps us on serve in this fourth set.

  11. Swiatek holdspublished at 18:41 British Summer Time

    Swiatek 6-1 4-6 5-3 Lamens*

A punch of the air from Iga Swiatek as she holds serve to move within one game of round three.

This has ended up being a lot harder that we all expected after the Wimbledon champion won the first set 6-1 in about half an hour.

  12. Postpublished at 18:40 British Summer Time

    *Swiatek 6-1 4-6 4-3 Lamens

Lamens has won her way back into this match.

  13. Osaka holdspublished at 18:40 British Summer Time

    *Baptiste 0-1 Osaka

Naomi Osaka holds in game one, but that was an impressive start from Hailey Baptsite.

The American hits two clean forehand winners, but fails to convert on break point as her deft volley clips the top of the net and falls the wrong side.

    She'll serve next.

  14. Boyer holdspublished at 18:37 British Summer Time

    Boyer 3-6 3-6 7-5 3-2 Rublev*

Tristan Boyer will not lie down in this one.

After failing to take three break points in Andrey Rublev's previous service game, he makes no mistake this time.

He follows that up with a hold to love and the American is well and truly back in this.

  15. Lamens holdspublished at 18:37 British Summer Time

    *Swiatek 6-1 4-6 4-3 Lamens

The pressure is now back on Iga Swiatek as Suzan Lamens holds serve to 30 and reduces her deficit even further in this deciding set.

Swiatek's unforced error count is up to 26.

  16. Lamens gets a break backpublished at 18:34 British Summer Time

    Swiatek 6-1 4-6 4-2 Lamens*

Iga Swiatek isn't over the line yet though - her struggles continue, Suzan Lamens finds a bit of form and earns two points to get one of those breaks back.

On the second, Swiatek whips a forehand wide and it's back to 4-2 in Swiatek's favour.

  18. Postpublished at 18:30 British Summer Time

    Baptiste v Osaka

The big names keep on coming - we'll soon have two-time US Open champion Naomi Osaka taking on world number 47 and US native Hailey Baptiste in the second round at Louis Armstrong Stadium.

Osaka, currently 24th in the rankings, eased into the second round with a 6-3 6-4 victory over Greet Minnen.

The 27-year-old is looking to progress beyond the third round at a Grand Slam for the first time since achieving her most recent major triumph at the Australian Open in January 2021.

  19. Swiatek breaks againpublished at 18:28 British Summer Time

    *Swiatek 6-1 4-6 4-1 Lamens

Iga Swiatek gets the better of a 24-shot rally to move 15-30 up in Suzan Lamens' latest service game.

Lamens saves two break points with forehand winners to keep herself alive in the match, because surely falling a double break behind would be curtains.

And maybe it is curtains, as Swiatek pounces all over a second serve on another break point to move 4-1 ahead.

  20. Postpublished at 18:26 British Summer Time

    Boyer 3-6 3-6 7-5 1-2 Rublev*

    That's clutch from Andrey Rublev.

The Russian shouts at himself as gifts Tristan Boyer two break points, but he then serves an ace and saves the second.

He saves another break point before winning the game with a forehand volley.

Boyer holds his service game without too much difficulty to get on the board in this fourth set.
