Scotland's men and women remain in contention for play-off places at the European Curling Championships.

Kyle Smith's rink recovered from a 5-4 loss to Sweden to edge out Norway 8-7 after an extra end.

That leaves them in a tie for third place with five victories from seven round-robin matches, with unbeaten hosts Switzerland now qualified.

The Scots women, led by Eve Muirhead, beat Turkey 8-3 and are in a share of second place.

Sweden, the only team to beat the Scots in St Gallen, are the first women's rink to guarantee progress to the medal matches.

The top four in the standings progress to the play-offs.
