The closure of part of the main route between the Isle of Man’s capital and the north for a second day will not take place as planned.

The A18 had been due to close between Tholt-y-Will Road to Creg ny Baa between 09:30 and 20:00 BST for the removal of road racing equipment.

However, the Department of Infrastructure said all of the post-Manx Grand Prix works had been completed during first day of the closure on Monday.

Phase one of the works, which was carried out last week between Ramsey and the Bungalow, was hampered by poor weather.

The department confirmed road closure orders for 23 and 24 September, which had been put in place as a contingency, would not now been used.
