House fire spreads to neighbouring home

The fire service responded to multiple calls reporting a fire on Blandford Road, Plymouth

A fire which broke out at a property in Plymouth spread to the neighbouring house, the fire service has said.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said it received multiple calls reporting a ground floor house fire on Blandford Road around 15:49 GMT on Wednesday.

Devon and Cornwall Police said a woman was helped from the property by firefighters and checked over by paramedics.

The fire service said crews from Crownhill, Greenbank and Camels Head were among those which tackled the blaze which had spread to an adjacent property.
