Wiltshire in Pictures: Romance in the animal world

The new fruit bats at Longleat have been enjoying plenty of fruit and veg
- Published
This week Wiltshire has appeared on BBC tv show The Repair Shop, seen exciting developments at Salisbury Railway Station and been showing off it's pothole-fixing machines.
It has also brought the arrival of some winged friends as Longleat's Bat Cave welcomed 42 new residents who seem to have big appetites.
The Egyptian fruit bats get through 98 apples, 84 bananas, 35 pears, 28 tomatoes, 14 honeydew melons, seven mangoes, 47 carrots, four cucumbers, four sweet potatoes and six corns a week.
Here is our weekly gallery showing life across the county over the past few days.

Love at 220 feet: Peregrine Falcons have returned to Salisbury Cathedral early this year, with a breeding pair making their home in the nest box below the cathedral spire, just in time for Valentine's Day.

Flocking together: These flamingos at Longleat were getting up close and personal in the run-up to Valentine's Day. For romance or warmth? Hard to tell.

Repair Shop: A unique bench in Wroughton has been repaired with help from BBC's Repair Shop on the Road. The bench has been restored after an appeal by the Royal British Legion and is in the shape of a Barracuda, a naval torpedo bomber, which were once maintained at nearby RAF Wroughton.

Encircled: This week saw a new show in Swindon as the town's Prime Youth Theatre performed 'Grow Up' inside the former Argos in the Brunel Shopping Centre, putting on the show 'in the round' meaning performers were surrounded by the audience.

Ray of sunshine: Following heavy rain at the beginning of the week, one local photographer was treated to some stunning reflections in Cholderton as the clouds gave way to sunshine.

Bobbies on the beat: Wiltshire Police officers have been out in rural communities in their mobile police station this week, including a visit to Bromham.
With many physical police stations having been shut due to budgetary constraints, the mobile station allows the force to interact face-to-face with smaller communities.

Public view: Its been announced that a stunning illustrated medieval manuscript is to go on public display at Salisbury Cathedral for the first time in centuries. The Sarum Master Bible was donated to the cathedral following a successful fundraising campaign, and will be displayed from 28 February to 20 March.

Bench controversy: From a beloved Wroughton bench to ones that have caused a stir in Trowbridge.
Colourful new benches in the town have split opinion - one person describing them as looking "like a bin that's been squashed", although the design was chosen by the town council after a public consultation.

Quick fix: Wiltshire Council's Bobcat machines have been hailed as "game-changers", 18 months after being introduced.
The machines have been fixing potholes up and down the county and can cover ten times as much ground as previously.
