Gloucestershire in pics: Wolf moon and pine martens
- Published
Our weekly round-up of pictures includes the first full moon of the year, and some foggy skies.
It's been a week of changeable weather across the county but the blue sky was still determined to break through.
There was also a thumping win for Gloucester when Welsh visitors came to town, but defeat for one of our teams in the Women's FA Cup.

Pink scenes: One of our local photographers Rich Davis captured a beautiful morning on his walk from Purton to Sharpness Docks this week.

Under the lights: Gloucester fans enjoyed a bonus-point win over Scarlets in a match played on a frosty night at Kingsholm.

Chilly start: Despite the warm tones in this photography, it was a mere three degrees celsius when it was taken. We always enjoy images sent in by our weather watchers, such as this one taken by Andy D in Cam.

Big boost: A decade-long conservation project to restore the fortunes of pine martens across Britain has hit a major milestone. A collaboration between Vincent Wildlife Trust (VWT) and Forestry and Land Scotland has seen pine martens from the latter's forests boost populations in Wales, Gloucestershire and Devon - with more than 100 animals successfully translocated.

Foggy starts: Thursday started with a big band of fog creeping around Gloucestershire. Weather watcher 'Wildwoman' captured the scene well as the fog took over the hills at Painswick.

Cup defeat: Cheltenham Town Women's lost their match against the Wolverhampton Wanderers Women at the weekend in the Adobe Women's FA Cup Fourth Round match. The final score at Kayte Lane was 2-0 to the visitors.

Night skies: This week we saw the first full moon of the year. January's full Moon is also called the Wolf Moon, because it's thought wolves howled more at this time of year as there was less food in the middle of winter.
