Teen charged with attempted murder over stabbing

A teenager has been charged with attempted murder after a 15-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries in a stabbing.

Police were called to the junction of Frankley Beeches Road and A38 Bristol Road South, in the Northfield area of Birmingham at about 00:50 GMT on Monday.

The victim was taken to hospital but is now in a stable condition, West Midlands Police said.

A 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with attempted murder and was remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court.

A second teenager, aged 17, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed pending further inquires.
