Police investigating the murder of an elderly man at a block of flats have revealed his name.

Emergency services were called to a property on Silverdale Close in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, at 16:20 GMT on Friday.

Thames Valley Police said John Jones, 76, was found with serious injuries and he died at the scene.

Peter Kindell, 80, of Silverdale Close, Aylesbury, was remanded in custody following a court appearance. He has been charged with one count of murder, one count of possession of an offensive weapon in public, and one count of possession of a bladed article in public.

Mr Kindell appeared at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court on Monday and is due at Reading Crown Court on Wednesday.
