A man has appeared in court charged with causing the death of a seven-year-old girl in a crash involving two cars.

Veselin Dudenski, 39, of Cherry Avenue, Branston, Lincolnshire, is accused of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

It follows an investigation into a collision between a Kia and a Citroen Relay on the B1202 Metheringham Heath Lane, Nocton, near Sleaford, on Friday 3 January, which led to the death of seven-year-old Elsie Gascoigne.

No pleas were entered when Mr Dudenski appeared at Lincoln Magistrates' Court earlier and the case was adjourned for a plea and trial preparation hearing at Lincoln Crown Court on 13 November.

Elsie, from Metheringham, was a passenger in one of the cars and suffered serious injuries in the crash.

She was taken to hospital but died in the early hours of the following day.

Mr Dundenski was granted bail on condition he lives at his address in Branston, he surrenders his passport to the police and he does not leave the UK.
