Police in ASB crackdown at retail park

More police have been deployed to Bentley Bridge Retail Park

Police patrols have been stepped up at a Wolverhampton retail park after reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB).

West Midlands Police said more officers had been deployed at Bentley Bridge Retail Park, with shoppers and staff encouraged to report problems to them or security.

"We will not tolerate anti-social behaviour and will take enforcement action where required," the force said.

It added a man had been charged with drug and weapon offences after an arrest at the site last weekend.

Arrests were also made in the nearby areas of Wednesfield, Heath Town and Bilston on suspicion of drugs, shoplifting and driving offences.

In November, events were held to raise awareness of what to do about ASB in Wolverhampton.

The city council has urged people not to suffer in silence if they experience problems, and instead report incidents to the authority's ASB team or the police.
