Bomb squad called over 'suspicious item' in Edinburgh

A bomb disposal team was dispatched to a street in Edinburgh after reports of a "potentially suspicious item".
Police Scotland said officers were sent to Loganlea Gardens in the city's Craigentinny area just before 17:00.
The public was told to avoid the area and residents of nearby streets were advised to keep their windows shut and remain inside their homes.
Police Scotland said the item was examined and it was established there was no risk to the public.
A spokesperson said: "There is not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
"The cordon has been removed and it is safe for evacuated residents to return home.
"Officers would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding as inquiries were carried out."
