Alder Hey has become the first children's hospital in the UK to have its own specially adapted cinema.

It has room for up to 34 youngsters and their families , with plenty of space for wheelchairs and hospital beds.

To celebrate the opening of the cinema - which has been paid for by donations - the audience was treated to a special screening of Moana 2, which is yet to have its London premiere.

"The support we've had from the community and all our fundraisers has been phenomenal," said Alder Hey's chief nursing officer Nathan Askew.
