A teenage joiner died from neck injuries after plasterboard fell on her, an inquest has heard.

Chloe Bidwell, 18, from Trearddur Bay in Anglesey, was working at a house which was being renovated in Bangor on 20 December 2023.

An inquest opening in Caernarfon on Wednesday heard an ambulance was called at 18:48 GMT, arriving four minutes later.

Ms Bidwell was found by emergency services in the hallway, but died before she could be taken to hospital.

Assistant coroner Sarah Riley told the short hearing the incident happened at Coed Celyn in Deiniol Road, which was "a building site” due to renovation work.

“The initial call to North Wales Police said that a woman had been found not conscious inside the hallway, and plasterboard appeared to have fallen on her back,” she said.

A post-mortem examination found Chloe Bidwell had died from neck injuries.

The inquest was adjourned while investigations continue.

Her employer, Varcity Living, previously said it was unable to comment on the circumstances of the case as an investigation was ongoing.
