A Grade II listed bridge will be closed to traffic for four days, as repair work is carried out.

Clun Bridge will be closed between 09:30 to 16:00 BST from 16 to 19 September, with traffic diverted by a signed route.

Work will involve removing and rebuilding damaged sections to both parapets, as well as filling gaps between stones and bricks.

Access over the bridge for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists would remain throughout the works, and access to frontages would be maintained up to the bridge closure, Shropshire Council said.

The historic bridge was closed on a number of occasions in 2023, which included work to address damaged parapets in July, drainage works in November, and resurfacing and structural repairs in December.
