Archdales Sports Ground could have a ticket box and floodlights

New floodlights, a covered stand and ticket box will be installed at a football club.

Planning permission has been apporved for New Dales Vale FC in Worcester to install six 15m (49ft) high retractable floodlights and a ticket box on Archdales Sports Ground.

Proposals also included a covered stand with room for 100 supporters along with a walkway and barrier around the pitch.

By upgrading the facilities, the club, which plays in the Herefordshire Football League Premier Division, would meet the minimum league standards and be able to move up a league.

Last season they finished second in their league.

The improvements would help the future of the community and provide recreational opportunities for young people, a supporter of the plans said.

Worcester City Council planning officers said that the floodlights would not be allowed to be used outside the hours of 08:00 BST and 22:00 BST, or when the pitch is not in use.

This news was gathered by the Local Democracy Reporting Service which covers councils and other public service organisations.
