Residents fuming over misspelt town on roads

LDRS uncovered at least four spelling mistakes in the area

People in one of Merseyside's best-known towns have said the misspelling of Kirkby on road markings and signs is "disgraceful".
There have been several sightings of Kirkby being incorrectly spelt as Kirby, including four mistakes on the M58 junction.
Plans are under way to correct the errors, the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) understands, after approaching National Highways and Sefton Council.
Kim Bradshaw, 22, who noticed the incorrect spelling four times whilst driving on the roundabout near Maghull Lane in Sefton said: "I think that's a joke, really."
She added: "I think it's disgraceful. It's mistakes that should not be made and should be changed, effective immediately.
"It just doesn't look really good in our city that people are living here and working here, and we get these signs that aren't even spelt right."
'Still annoyed'
The LDRS came across two signs on the roundabout between School Lane and Wango Lane in Aintree – one with the correct spelling and one with the incorrect spelling.
"The funniest part is there's a sign right in front of it spelling it correctly," Angela Bon Bangela said on social media.
Robert Howard said he had moved from Kirkby 55 years ago but was still annoyed when people spell it "without the K".
Rose Glover Tope commented on social media that it was "embarrassing"
Ash Hair added: "They obviously can't spell. Deffo not scousers who've done this, you can tell."
