Police have made two further arrests following a crash in Leicester that left an e-bike rider with life-threatening injuries.

Leicestershire Police said it was called to reports of a collision involving a red Audi A4 and an e-bike in Forest Road, off the A47 Humberstone Road, just after 23:30 BST on Monday

The 21-year-old male Audi driver was arrested the same day on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking and driving with an alcohol level above the legal limit, and remains in custody.

Police said two more men – aged 31 and 22 – were arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and were also in custody.

The rider – a man in his 20s – was taken to hospital and is continuing to receive treatment for life-threatening injuries, police said

Officers said they now believed the Audi was travelling with two BMW 3 Series cars – one white and one black.

Det Sgt Michael Steer said: "Our investigation into this incident is continuing and we'd like to speak to anyone who can help but has not yet come forward.

"Any motorists with a dashcam or residents with CCTV or doorbell footage may be able to assist our enquiries."
