Man in his 40s charged with rape of 14-year-old girl

A 43-year-old man has been charged following the rape of a 14-year-old girl at the weekend.

Hampshire Police said the attack in Houndwell Park, Southampton, was reported at about 22:30 GMT on Saturday.

Nicholas Foreman, from Christchurch, has been charged with three counts of rape and one count of assault.

He appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, where he was remanded into custody.

He will next appear at Southampton Crown Court on Monday 17 March.

Police said the victim was being supported by specialist officers.
