A man who died following an altercation had a "heart bigger than Ipswich", his family has said.
Charlie Stephen David Greaves, 25, from Ipswich was found dead in a property in Carr Road, Felixstowe on 11 August, following an assault the night before.
A 28-year-old man from Felixstowe was arrested on suspicion of murder on 12 August and has been released on bail.
Mr Greaves' family issued a tribute that described him as a person who made an "impact on the lives of everyone he met".
"Charlie was an affable young man who was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time," his family members said.
"He had been with his partner for eight years and loved to go on holiday with his family. He doted on his grandparents and would help to care for them.
"His pet Princess was a rescue dog that he had acquired about nine months ago and she had brought him a great deal of joy. He also loved to cook and play his music loud.
"He had a heart bigger than Ipswich and loved to chat – he would talk to anyone and everyone. He made an impact on the lives of everyone he met.
"He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by all his family and friends."
Suffolk Police was called by paramedics on 10 August at 21:20 BST to reports of an assault on the promenade by Undercliff Road West in Felixstowe.
It was believed one person was injured and he would have been seen with his dog - a brown and white Staffordshire bull terrier and boxer crossbreed.
Police were called the following morning at 10:30 to Carr Road where Mr Greaves had been found deceased.
Preliminary results of the post-mortem suggested his death was caused by a traumatic head injury, pending further investigation.
The man who was arrested in connection to the death is due to return to the police station on 7 October.
Police have been continuing to appeal for witnesses and information.
