Shaun the Sheep trail coming to National Trust site

A trail will feature 12 models of Shaun the Sheep

A sculpture trail featuring 12 painted models of the animated character Shaun the Sheep is coming to a National Trust property this spring.

The "ewe-niquely" designed sculptures will be displayed at Anglesey Abbey and Lode Mill in Cambridgeshire.

The Find the Flock trail, a collaboration with events group Wild in Art and Aardman Animations, and features "super-sized" Shauns, standing at about 1.6m (5ft 3in) high and painted by different artists.

The trail will be open between 1 March and 27 April.

The flock has been painted by 12 different national and international artists with bright colours and "funky, bold patterns", the National Trust said.

A trail map will be available for visitors to learn more about the individual designs as they wander around the grounds of the property, in Lode.

The event has been billed as a great day out for all the family - and it is open during the school holidays

Meghan Curteis, visitor manager at Anglesey Abbey, said, "We are so excited to have our woolly friend Shaun the Sheep [here] this spring.

"The sculpture trail is a great opportunity for visitors to explore the gardens with friends and family, discover some great art, and see the garden spring to life."

Charlie Langhorne, co-founder of Wild in Art, said he hoped visitors would enjoy seeing "how our incredible artists have brought this iconic and cheeky character to life".
