An orange weather warning about wind and high tides has been put in place for Jersey.

A yellow alert was issued on Wednesday afternoon but Jersey Met Office raised the level of the warning at 09:27 BST on Thursday and extended it to cover Friday.

It warned wind and high tides would lead to waves breaking over seawalls, which would leave water and debris on roads along the south and east coast of the island.

The 11.8m (39ft) high tide is at 21:27 on Thursday and the 11.4m (37ft) high tide is at 09:49 on Friday.

Some flooding may occur leading to the closure of some coastal roads, Jersey Met Office added.
