Jersey Electricity increase EV charging tariffs

The price increase is the second of its kind since the network was introduced six years ago

Jersey Electricity (JE) has informed customers of an increase to tariffs across its public vehicle charging network, known as Evolve.
On Monday, customers were informed that from 1 May fast chargers would increase from 24p to 30p per kWh during peak times and from 12p to 15p per kWh in off peak times.
A spokesperson for JE said: "This is only the second price rise since the network was introduced more than six years ago."
They added the company was "continuing to invest heavily to expand and improve the network".
They said this included a new state-of-the-art 150kW Ultra-Rapid charger which is set to be installed in Gorey.
It follows the recent addition of the island's second Ultra-Rapid charger in St Aubin.
The JE spokesperson said: "Despite the price increase, charging an EV via the public network remains extremely cost-effective.
"The Evolve network continues to be significantly cheaper than many comparable networks in the UK and Europe."
