A1 repairs set to start

One lane has been shut on the A1 southbound since November after a fatal crash.

Now, work to fix a 100-year-old culvert is scheduled to start in September.

Repairing it has been considered complex due to a large water main near the road and the brook, which runs into a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

The site is also close to the remains of a Roman town.
