A crackdown on delivery drivers in Thanet has resulted in five uninsured vehicles being seized by Kent Police.

Officers stopped 28 people who were using cars and scooters for work on Friday and reminded them "of their responsibilities to drive safely and legally".

The Home Office also helped to make checks on documentation and business insurance.

Seven people were reported for traffic offences, including not having a licence, and no valid MOT, while a 38-year-old woman from Ramsgate, who was not a delivery driver, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and driving without insurance, then released on bail.

Sgt James Cattermole said: "People who regularly use vehicles on public roads as part of their job should ensure they are fully aware of legislation surrounding driving for a living."
