Bus collides with guardrail on High Street

A double-decker bus has collided with a guardrail on a town High Street.

The 22A service hit the barrier on the pavement in Wellington, Somerset, as it turned from North Street onto High Street on Tuesday.

Buses of Somerset, the service provider, said no passengers reported injuries following the collision, and no pedestrians were involved.

A spokesperson said it is "conducting a full investigation to determine the root cause of the incident."

The bus was on its way from Tonedale to Taunton, via Wellington, when it struck the barrier next to a pedestrian crossing.

Avon and Somerset Police said officers were working to help recover the bus on Tuesday afternoon.
