Dead fish removed from Brazil lagoon

More than 65,000 tons of dead fish have been removed from a lagoon in Brazil.

The Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon in the south of Rio de Janeiro is due to serve as a venue for rowing and canoeing events when the city hosts the Summer Olympics in 2016.

The city's environmental office blamed the deaths on a number of factors which led oxygen levels in the water to dramatically drop.
