Carwyn Jones 'pleased' by prospect of new Wales Bill

First Minister Carwyn Jones has welcomed plans to devolve new powers to Wales, outlined in the Queen's Speech, but said UK ministers' plans for new laws were "not the most substantial'.

More control over energy, transport and elections will be offered to the assembly, as proposed by Prime Minister David Cameron in February.

The Queen said it was intended as part of a "strong and lasting constitutional settlement" across the UK.

Mr Jones said he was pleased draft legislation for further Welsh devolution was expected later this year.
