Alex Salmond on what US president-elect Trump means for the UK

Alex Salmond says Donald Trump's election as US president is not good news for the UK's international trade.

The Gordon MP and former first minister of Scotland had dealings with Mr Trump over the Scottish government's decision to give the go-ahead for a wind farm off the coast of the Menie Estate, Aberdeenshire.

Mr Salmond told the BBC that the US president-elect's protectionism could mean that the UK vote to leave the EU would effectively mean country is heading "out of the frying pan and into the international trade fire".
