Scottish politicians react to Trump's election

The leaders of Scotland's biggest political parties have been giving their reaction to the news that Donald Trump will be the 45th US president.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has said that people around the world will feel a sense of anxiety but that, although it was not the outcome she had hoped for, it was the verdict of the American people and must be respected.

"Not the type of person who should be in charge of America," was Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale's description while Conservative leader Ruth Davidson appears certain that the UK's "special relationship" with the US will endure.

BBC Scotland's political correspondent Glenn Campbell reports.
