President Sarkozy interrupts holiday for special economic meeting

France's top politicians are interrupting their summer holidays for a special meeting called by the president to discuss the economic situation.

President Sarkozy is meeting with his prime minister, finance, budget and economy ministers as they gear up for a tough battle this autumn.

The government is planning measures to cut the country's budget deficit and reform its pension system.
