Two years on from Darling's grave economic prediction

In August 2008 the then chancellor Alistair Darling warned that Britain faced its worse downturn in 60 years.

Two years on and the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) has upgraded its forecast for the UK's short term economic prospects, but the prospect of public sector job cuts looms large and there are still fears of a double-dip recession.
