China lends more money than the World Bank, says report

China has lent more money to developing countries over the last two years than the World Bank, according to a report in the Financial Times newspaper today. It looked at the lending of two state controlled banks which made $110 bn (£69.2 bn) worth of loans, compared to $100bn (£63bn) by the World Bank.

It's thought the lending is China's attempt to strength trade ties.

The BBC's Chris Hogg reports from Shanghai.
