Fuel prices could rise 4p in April

Petrol and diesel prices are set to increase by 4p a litre when fuel duty goes up in April.

BBC Breakfast's calculations take into account this week's inflation figures, the effect of VAT, as well as the headline 1p rise in duty.

Prices at the pump could go up to record levels, and there are growing calls for the government to take action to stabilise the price of fuel.

Keith Doyle's report includes Brian Madderson, RMI Petrol Retailers Association; Andrew Culverhouse, a small business owner; Edmund King, president of The AA and Darrent Johnson from the Green Party.
