Union chief calls Cable speech 'ill advised'

Vince Cable has warned unions that co-ordinated strike action may lead to tougher laws. The business secretary was heckled while delivering a speech to the GMB union's conference in Brighton.

Mr Cable acknowledged that strikes were at a historically low level but said ministers would act if they harmed the economy.

Paul Kenny, the general secretary of the GMB union, told the BBC that the business secretary's speech was ill-advised.
