Saudi Arabia's women are turning to social media to help them campaign for the right to drive, and assert their economic independence.

Several dozen Saudi women got behind the wheel of their cars to defy a driving ban in the conservative kingdom.

The campaign gained momentum through social media, with women filming themselves driving around to emphasis how important driving is to help them in both their personal and professional lives.

Given the restrictions, there are those who find living and working elsewhere in the Gulf much easier. So what impact does this have on the region's largest economy?
