Chris Grayling: Job figures disappointing

Britain's economic recovery hopes have been dealt a blow as official figures revealed an unexpected rise in the number of unemployed people.

Figures rose by 38,000 in the three months to June to 2.49 million.

People claiming Jobseeker's Allowance also increased by just over 37,000 last month, to 1.56 million.

There has also been a rise in the number of unemployed women.

The Employment Minister Chris Grayling said the figures are "disappointing".
